Winter is absolutely wonderful this year in Lithuania, so we decided to use it to our advantage and create modern art from ice and snow. This art is friendly to the environment and, after giving happiness of creating your own “masterpieces”, it disappears without a trace.
In order to widen our pupils’ horizons in art history and to give them a possibility to study a piece of art by looking at the artist’s use of lines, shape, texture and composition, we offered them kind of a game. Pupils of Vilnius Pranas Masiotas primary school experimented with art and tried to recreate how well-known paintings could look in reality. Families, children and teachers were excited with the result.
To our pupils town is not only a place where they live. It is also a place where they discover and learn new things, socialize and get inspired to create. So what image of town modern children have in their minds? Maybe their drawings can reveal that.
