Portuguese students are already preparing the visit of our partners in March. Considered an ex-libris of Porto, the Lello & Irmão Bookstore is certainly one of the highlights of the visit. Lello & Irmão Bookstore is one of the most beautiful in the world. Dating from 1906, the building has an Art Nouveau façade and neo gothic details,
Inside, the walls are covered by shelves from bottom to top. You can also admire the beautifully carved staircase and the amazing stain glass ceiling that will astonish you and take your breath away.
Some say that J.K Rowling, spent her days there, working on the manuscript of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone and that’s where she got inspiration for Flourish and Blotts — the bookstore in Diagon Alley- where Hogwarts students purchase their school books.
